In 1987 Sylvester Stallone called upon Gil Hibben to make a custom knife for his upcoming movie “Rambo III”. Gil made a prototype hollow handle survival knife with saw teeth along the spine.
Stallone later changed his mind and opted for another of Gil’s designs, the now-famous Rambo III Bowie knife.
However, the minefield scenes had already been filmed and the first design is seen in the 1988 movie.
Due to customer demand and to celebrate the 25th anniversary of “Rambo III”,
Gil Hibben and Vaughn Neeley teamed up to produce a limited edition of 100 specially marked, mirror-polished, and serial-numbered 25th Anniversary Rescue knives.
Hall of Fame knifemaker Gil Hibben and 1983 Blade Show “Knife of the Year” (Timberline SA) maker Vaughn Neeley provide over 85 years of combined expert professional knifemaking experience to bring you this outstanding special limited edition handmade knife.
